Serious work started New Years Eve 2012!
========================================
Ok, it's started.  Rob Parish traded some computer advice/equipment for time in his heated shop at the end of 2011...

Week 1 project list (12/31/2011)

All bulkheads, drains and rot removed!
New bulkheads, new drains in place

Now Rob has taken on the big steps to making Goblin seaworthy and beautiful.  The forward raking unstayed mast will be supported by new forward bulkheads and a wide mast step of hard exotic wood.

A crew is starting on the hull surface, removing paint and crud.

Previous name of the boat was uncovered just ahead of the stern on the starboard side.  HMS RELENTLESS, everyone stopped for a moment and all agreed, she's not relentless, she's a beautiful Goblin.
New list for Week 2 (January 9th 2012)

Jeff,

This is just the inspiration I have been looking for. I have an Alacrity in my back yard in upstate New York. I've never seen the bottom wet so you can get an idea of the situation. Looking forward to your every move.

Regards,

Carroll Owens

Thanks Carroll,

As you can see, I started with a very optimistic blog in 2008, and Goblin's been sitting around until now... the moss comes off pretty quickly.

Good luck with your Alacrity, they're built like tanks.

Cheers,

Jeff

Jeff,

Excellent work! I restored mine several years ago and am still enjoying it. My restoration is in the alacrity blog site at this URL http://alacrity19.blogspot.com/2007/09/alacrity-pics-at-last.html.

Look forward to seeing more of your progress.

Tom
